The Iraqi Company for Financing Small and Medium Enterprises participated, according to the administration’s directives, in the launch ceremony of the “Green Taxi” project in Iraq, which was held by the Iraqi Ministry of Environment on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the Mövenpick Hotel, Baghdad, in the presence of a number of ministers, officials, and representatives of government institutions, the private sector, and international bodies.

Participating in the ceremony was represented by Counselor Firas Saeed and Mrs. Zainab Ibrahim. This participation confirms the company’s interest in keeping pace with national initiatives supporting sustainable development and the green economy, and enhancing its presence and communication with various actors and institutions in this field.

The “Green Taxi” project aims to support the transition towards sustainable transportation and clean energy, and to contribute to reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality in Iraqi cities, by introducing electric cars into the taxi system.

The company's participation in this event reflects its orientation towards supporting projects and initiatives that have a positive economic and environmental impact, in line with its role in empowering the private sector and contributing to achieving sustainable development in Iraq.
